Spanish courses

Spanish Language and Culture Courses at University of La Rioja (Spain) for Seniors 50+

This intensive course is specifically aimed at adults over 50 who want to learn Spanish or improve their skills in the said language, while joining a group of people with whom they share interests and objectives.

You will be immersed in the Spanish culture while learning the language in a safe and friendly environment.

3/9/24 (Tuesday) – 19/9/24 (Thursday), September 2024

Levels

Levels A1 and A2 (0 and basic)

Placement tests will be held on the first day to assign students to the most appropriate group.

Organization

Teaching hours

Teaching hours take place from Monday to Thursday, from 9 a.m to 1 p.m at the facilities of the University of La Rioja.

In addition to the Spanish language classes, master sessions on viticulture and the origins of Spanish by university specialists in these subjects are included.

Leisure and educational activities

They will take place in the afternoon, from Monday to Thursday.

  • Guided tour of the historic town centre.
  • Visit to a wine cellar.
  • Guided tour of Santo Domingo de la Calzada Cathedral.
  • Visit to the Monasteries of San Millán de La Cogolla, Yuso and Suso, birthplace of the first words written in Spanish (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
  • Wine tasting session.
  • Tapas in Laurel Street.

Fees

500 €

Tuition fees include:

  • Enrolment in the chosen course.
  • Travel assistance health insurance.
  • Teaching materials.
  • Guided tours of the city, monuments and museums.
  • Meals (from Monday to Thursday)
  • Assistance in finding accommodation. It does not include the cost of accommodation.
  • Use of university facilities (library, computer rooms, sports center).
  • Diploma accredited by the University of La Rioja.

Diploma

At the end of the course, students who have satisfactorily completed the course will receive a diploma indicating the level reached, the subjects taken, the hours received and the grade obtained.
